General information, not medical advice. After surgery, extractions or implants, ask your dentist before booking a long drive, mountain roads, wine tastings or a full-day trip. Tours were checked on 30 October 2026 on GetYourGuide and Viator. We do not list prices, durations or ratings; check the tour page for current details. Tours are listed for convenience and are not linked to, or an endorsement of, any clinic.

Most dental treatment plans leave free days between appointments. A short walk or a gentle day trip is a good way to use them, as long as you feel well and your dentist agrees. Choose shorter or half-day options right after treatment, keep the longer mountain and wine trips for later in your stay, and see our things to do during recovery and where to stay guides.

Tour names are shown as they appear on each platform.

Tbilisi city and Old Town walks

Walks in the Old Town stay close to most hotels and are the easiest choice on a light day.

Mtskheta and Jvari

Mtskheta, Georgia's ancient capital just outside Tbilisi, has three UNESCO-listed churches: Jvari, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Samtavro (Georgia Travel – Mtskheta; 9 sights in Mtskheta-Mtianeti). A short half-day by taxi to Mtskheta alone is usually manageable once you feel well.

Kakheti wine region

Kakheti tours usually include wine tastings: skip alcohol if your dentist has advised against it.

Georgia's main wine region is about 1 h 50 min by road from Tbilisi (Georgia Travel – Kakheti), with monasteries, qvevri wine and the hilltop town of Sighnaghi. Wine tastings mean alcohol, and it's a long day on the road.

Kazbegi and Gudauri

Kazbegi trips involve a long mountain road; keep them for when you have fully recovered.

Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and Gergeti Trinity Church are spectacular, but about 2 h 55 min each way by road (Georgia Travel), and high in the mountains below 5,054 m Mount Kazbek. The UK government notes that altitude sickness is a risk around Mount Kazbegi and Gudauri (GOV.UK). Save it for before treatment or after full recovery, and ask your dentist.

Other day trips: Uplistsikhe–Gori, Signagi, Ananuri
